On Netflix – outstanding little mini series – 8 episodes, Kelly Macdonald who is great in everything – Boardwalk Empire, Puzzle more recently and of course Train Spotting – along with a Japanese actor called Takehiro Hira are playing the main parts, this show is a bit arty farty in places with the odd bit of illustration, dancing and some very quirky black comedy.
Basically a policeman from Japan needs to find his Brother who has got in to a bit of a pickle with some not very nice people – the search finds Takehiro’s Character in London and at the same time lots of other story’s start to unfold – Charlie Creed-Miles pops up as a sort of happy go lucky gangster geezer – a part he always does a good job of.
These sort of shows never get a lot of promotion so they fall by the wayside a bit but are always a nice surprise when you come across them.
